Need Assistance? Employee Assistance services are provided by the company and managed by Optum Health. The benefits of the EAP are available to all employees and their dependents but not to contract employees or retirees. Retirees may be eligible for behavioral health and substance abuse treatment under their medical insurance or through Medicare. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is confidential and anything you share with Optum Health, your counselor, or the UAW EAP Coordinator is held in the strictest confidence. Exceptions to confidentiality are made only if a person poses a threat to them self or to others, in cases of child or elder neglect or abuse, or stealing company property. The UAW EAP Coordinator is not affiliated with human resources or security. Listed below is a brief description of the mental health care benefits offered to International employees and their dependents and information on how to access those benefits. If you have questions about your benefits please contact your UAW EAP Coordinator or Optum Health. If you or your loved ones are not eligible for EAP benefits and cannot afford behavioral health or substance abuse care, income-based help is available. Resources are listed at the bottom of this page. For a complete list of resources you can call United Way's First Call for Help at 211 or your UAW EAP Coordinator for assistance. Accessing Non-Emergency Care/Outpatient Counseling Optum Health has a variety of professionals in their network to assist you with a broad range of issues. These include: *Marital and Family Counseling *Interpersonal Conflicts and Stress *Chemical Dependency *Emotional Problems Step One: Find a counselor that meets your needs. Contact your UAW EAP Coordinator for an appointment. They can recommend an in-network provider based upon your needs. Or call Optum Health at 1-800-977-7909 24/7/365 and a qualified clinician will locate a counselor that meets your needs. Step Two: Call the counselor and set up an appointment. If you have difficulty getting an appointment in a reasonable time period then go back to Step One and reselect a counselor. Tell the counselor that you have insurance through UBH/Optum Health so they can bill appropriately. Step Three: Enjoy the benefits of having a professional assist you in working through life's problems. If for any reason you are unhappy or dissatisfied with the counselor go back to Step One and reselect a counselor. Be sure to notify Optum Health that you have switched providers. Your employee assistance program includes 4 free sessions per person, per issue, per year. If you wish to continue counseling after the 4 free EAP sessions, your sessions will be covered by your medical insurance. Mental health and substance abuse treatment for employees are managed by Optum Health. Your counselor will contact Optum Health to continue services. For UAW 2911 Employees, a $35 co-pay per visit will apply. Check your health plan or call Optum Health to learn more about your behavioral health and substance abuse benefits. FREE Phone Counseling! Counselors are available for free phone consultations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1-800-977-7909. Traveling Overseas for Work? EAP is there! PPC Worldwide (PPCW) at +44 1865 397 074. PPCW offers 24/7 telephonic consultation and support for crisis and disasters for traveling employees, ex-pats and their family members (translation provided in any language if needed). Accessing Emergency Care/Inpatient Services Call 911 and request a specially trained CIT officer if you or anyone else is having such severe symptoms that they pose a threat to them self or others. If they can be safely transported you can also take them to the Parkview or St. Joe Hospital emergency room. To determine your emergency care coverage, call Optum Health at 1-800-977-7909. Contact Optum Health within 48 hours or the next business day following the admission or onset of treatment. The doctor, hospital or a family member can make this call. Optum Health must be contacted in order for the treatment to be covered at the highest benefit. If you or one of your dependents is in a crisis and needs someone to talk to right away, Optum Health has licensed counselor's available 24 hours a day for immediate telephone intervention and consultation. Accessing Community Services Assistance for those not covered by Navistar's mental health care plan If you or someone you care about is in need of mental health care but they do not have insurance, please call United Way's Helpline at 211 or your UAW EAP Coordinator. They will help you locate a provider that meets your loved one's mental health care and financial needs. Income-based counseling is available to those who qualify. Nurses and social workers are available every day to answer your questions and help you or your loved ones take the first steps to recovery. Community Assistance Are you or someone you care about in need of a community service? Call United Way First Call for Help at 211 or your UAW EAP Coordinator and they will help locate a community service to meet your or your loved one's needs. These community services are funded by United Way and cover a vast array of needs such as rent assistance, utility assistance, mental health care, support groups, domestic abuse victims assistance, credit counseling, and much, much more. Don't be afraid to ask for help, and ask right away. These services are most effective when you seek assistance when the financial, domestic, or other problem first surfaces. |
