Chaplaincy Committee

Purpose
The Chaplaincy committee is here to serve our memberships needs in many areas. They are people dedicated to ministering to people of every faith. They help with spiritual counseling and advice in about every area of life. They help people spiritually, emotionally, physically, mentally, etc. They also make contact with the people that have lost loved ones or that might
be hospitalized.  These people are truly dedicated to this committee and don't mind praying with you or ministering to your needs.

Chaplain Gary Pomeroy
I am an ordained protestant minister, and I am available for prayer requests and most social events as defined by the UAW duties fitting to a Chaplain. I can meet with anyone, of any faith for any/all spiritual issues and for non-counseling religious assistance, however if there is another member of the committee that someone would feel is more appropriate, I can arrange that according to the UAW guidelines.

I am licensed and authorized by the UAW to perform the following services:

·        Marriages

·        Funerals

·        Hospital visits (by appointment)

I would also like the mention that I have a prayer request line and can be contacted through my work email or call me at 428-3623.

Current Members

  •   Gary Pomeroy - Chaplain (Chairperson)
  •   TBD (Contact Garry Pomeroy if interested.)
  •   TBD (Contact Garry Pomeroy if interested.)

[New!]I am looking for other volunteers to be on this committee.  I would prefer people of other background and religious origins; specifically females (nonspecific religious background), Muslims, Jews, and Catholics (although other spiritual backgrounds are also acceptable if they meet UAW criteria for the position), preferably ordained in their religious background.  Email me at work or call me at 428-3623 if you are interested.

Current Activities

·        Our current project is to bring in options for PERF and 401k that allow for Socially Responsible investing, which is an ongoing battle.

[New!]  We have received feedback from the company committee for the request for PERF and 401k to add a Socially Responsible Fund offering and it will be proposed at the next meeting. I’ve requested to be heard at that meeting personally to represent the interests of TDTC in this matter.
