We eat lunch at noon $5.00 per person (the rest is paid by the retiree chapter)

We invite ALL retiree’s and spouses to attend this luncheon, which is followed by a short meeting.

This is a great time to visit with old friends you worked with for years. This is also a good chance to have your Heath Insurance questions answered.

The June Chapter 305 Retiree meeting has been cancelled.

UAW Region 3 Retirees meeting held in Indianapolis on March 16^th. Our UAW Region 3 Director Terry Thurman gave an inspiring talk concerning Corporations trying to take away UAW retiree benefits. He mentioned that it is a continual battle, but the UAW has been successful in keeping the retiree benefits in every case. The UAW has and continues to work very hard for you. Sometimes we don’t hear anything about what is being done in our behalf, but I assure you that we are very fortunate to have the UAW as our union. They spend a lot of time and money keeping the benefits we earned.

We wish to thank Director Terry Thurman and Region 3 Retiree Rep.Brenda Upchurch of the UAW staff at Region 3 for all the support they give to us retirees.

One last reminder:
Medicare Part D…..If you are an International Truck and Engine Retiree or the Surviving Spouse of an International Truck and Engine Retiree…..You SHOULD NOT SIGN UP FOR MEDICARE PART D. Your present coverage is superior and is much less expensive.

Diabetic Supplies:

Some of our retirees have been using DSI (Diabetic Supply Inc.) for their supplies; test strips etc. for a few years now and have had a good experience ordering from them. DSI has been bought out by Star Medical. Star Medicals phone number for existing DSI customers is 1-800-638-0942. for new customers the number is: 1-800-297-2983.

While we are not endorsing them as a supplier, we have been told by several retiree’s that they are very happy with the service from this supplier.

Star Medical does not require a pre-payment for supplies and will bill Medicare at no charge to you.

We are informing you of this service because some retiree’s have reported that some of the local pharmacies require them to pre-pay for supplies then you must get reimbursed by Medicare.

This is one of the advantages of attending your retiree meetings, you hear about good and bad experiences from fellow retiree’s. When we hear of a service that is easy to use and our own brothers and sisters report satisfaction we will let you know.

We like to hear of these experiences (both good and bad) so we can pass the information on to all of our retirees.
