Retiree
Luncheon:
The
Joint Chapter 305/2911 retiree Luncheon was well attended and the food was
good.
The
guest speaker was Tom Tucker from Parkview Seniors Club. He gave a very
interesting talk about the
many activities and events that the club is
involved with. There are many discounts and other benefits that come with
membership. If interested contact: Tom
Tucker 260-373-7950, and mention you are UAW.
A
total of 86 people attended the luncheon and as usual we had a good time
talking with fellow retirees.

Shy
Supplemental Trust Fund:
Brother
Art Shy has informed us that the Supplemental Trust Fund is in good shape and
if it continues this trend the fund should be able to continue until the year
2050.
Art
Shy has been a tireless worker for ALL International Truck and Engine retirees.
It was through his effort that our retiree benefits were restored and the Trust
funds set up.
Brother
Art Shy has informed us that he will be retiring from the Supplemental Trust
Board of directors at the end of June of this year. Art’s wife has been ill for
much of the last year.
We
all owe a huge thanks to Brother Art Shy for his commitment to us retirees over
the years.
Art
has one of the best memories I have ever seen. He is able to recall specific
details of events and contract language from years ago. Hopefully Art will be
available in an advisory capacity some in the future.
Thanks
Brother Art Shy for your many years of service.
If
anyone would like to send a note of thanks to Art, send to:

Insurance:
Life Insurance:
If
you need to find out how much life insurance you have with International Truck
and Engine you should call:
Met Life @ 1-800-871-2435 request they
send you the amount of life insurance you have.
The
maximum possible of life insurance
that is of no cost to you is up to $5000.00 from International Truck and
possibly up to another $5000.00 from the Supplemental Trust.
You
may have less than those amounts depending on when you retired and how much
service you had.
In
the last retiree check mailed by International Truck mention was made in the
“Inside International” retiree edition that some people employed prior to 1988
were eligible for a Paid-Up life insurance policy.
This
is the old $2800.00 policy that most people cashed in 1988. If you are not sure
you can contact:
Also
some retirees chose to buy supplemental Life Insurance; this is billed to you
quarterly. If you do not now pay quarterly for life insurance you do not have
this plan.
This
can also be checked by calling Met Life
@ 1-800-871-2435
