 Insurance:

Mike Lacour who replaced Art Shy on the Supplemental Trust Board called recently and reported that the Supplemental Trust Committee had met and was pleased to report that the fund is still in good shape and that the benefits as supplemented by the trust will stay the same.

Presently the Supplemental Trust supplements drug cost, medical costs, your deductibles, co-pays. It also pays for our retiree dental, and vision, and hearing aid programs and provides up to an additional $5000.00 of life insurance.

We are most fortunate that this was established in 1993, thanks to At Shy and the UAW.

Presently over 41,000 International retirees participate in this program.

Life Insurance:

If you want to find out how much life insurance you have with International Truck and Engine you should call:

Met Life @ 1-800-871-2435 and request they send you the amount of life insurance you have.

The maximum amount of life insurance that is of no cost to you is up to $5000.00 from International Truck and up to another $5000.00 from the Supplemental Trust or a maximum total of  up to $ 10,000.00 at no cost to you.

You may have less than those amounts depending on when you retired and how much service you had.

You may still have the old $2800.00 policy that most people cashed in. If you are not sure you can contact:  Aetna Life at 1-800-858-3501.

Some retirees chose to buy supplemental Life Insurance; this is billed to you quarterly. If you do not now pay quarterly for life insurance you do not have this plan.

This can also be checked by calling Met Life @ 1-800-871-2435
