Greetings
Retiree’s and Spouses:
As
you have read by now an agreement was reached during the recent negotiations
between the UAW and International Truck and Engine after an 8 week strike.
These were very difficult negotiations and the active workers had to make some
sacrifices in order to get an agreement and protect their jobs.
In
the new agreement a portion of future cost of living raises will be kept by
International Truck and Engine to offset some of the health care costs of
ACTIVE workers.
In
the past some of future cost of living increases were used to provide a yearly
bonus for retirees. During these negotiations the UAW was not able to retain
the bonus for retirees. So for the life of this contract (3 years) there will
NOT be a yearly bonus for retirees.
Fortunately,
the most important benefit we retirees have is still intact. That being our Shy
Supplemental Trust Health Agreement.
Your Health Benefits remain as before thanks to the Shy Agreement.
Hyatt Legal

the strike the Hyatt Legal plan was not available for retirees.
