Chapter Meetings:

.           Chapter 305.  1st Thursday of the month @ 1:00 PM at the 3915 E. Pontiac Street.

Chapter 2911. 2nd Thursday of the month @ 5:00 PM at VFW 12700 Dawkins Rd., New Haven, IN

Insurance:

All Navistar Retirees who are enrolled in the Health Care program and are a part of the Shy Supplemental Trust will have an increase in payment for 2010.

For those on Medicare:

For those on Medicare our insurance will change from Aetna Medicare to Humana Navistar Medicare.

You will receive a new card from Humana in December which you start using January 1, 2010.

There is some difference in terminology used by Humana regarding what Navistar and the Supplemental Trust refer to as “Deductible”. Humana refers to the $400.00 as “maximum out of pocket”.

There are a few minor changes in coverage in the new plan, however, we are receiving all of the regular Medicare benefits in the new plan.

Humana will breakdown the “maximum out of pocket” as follows for 2010:

Of the Medicare allowed expenses Humana will apply the first $155.00 to what they refer to as deductible

We will be required to pay this. NOTE: ONLY PAY AFTER YOU HAVE RECEIVED AN E.O.B FROM HUMANA ADVISING YOU OF THE MEDICARE APPROVED AMOUNT DUE.

The next $245.00 (of our yearly $400.00 deductible) Humana will pay the first 80% of the Medicare approved amount and send us an E.O.B. telling us we owe the remaining 20% of the Medicare approved amount and to whom to pay it to. This will continue until the 20% amounts add up to $245.00. or $400.00 total for the year.

After this Humana will pay all bills at 100%.

We have an annual out of pocket maximum or deductible of $400.00.

DO NOT PAY ANY DOCTOR OR HEALTH CARE FACILITY UNTIL YOU GET THE E.O.B. FROM HUMANA ADVISING US HOW MUCH AND TO WHOM THE PAYMENT GOES.

All bills are to be paid at the Medicare approved rate, not the amount of the original billing as long as your health care provider accepts Medicare assignment. Most do.

It is advisable to contact your doctors now to be sure they accept the Humana plan. If they say they don’t accept Humana, immediately call Humana at 1-800-827-1884 and Humana will contact the doctor’s office and try to get them in the program.

For those not yet on Medicare your monthly premium will increase to $54.00 per month.

All other insurance plans remain the same as they are now.

************************************************************************************************

At the July 2009 Chapter 305 retiree meeting it was decided among those in attendance to no longer send this retiree bulletin to non-dues paying retirees from Local 305.or Local 658. The reason is because of the cost of the bulletin and mailing. Those Chapter 305 retirees and Retirees from Local 658 in Springfield who

are not presently paying dues who wish to continue to receive these retiree bulletins in the future must call Barbara Parrott and either send in a card to have dues taken out of your retiree check (if you are the retiree). Or pay dues manually by check once a year.

Widows and widowers must pay dues manually and should send a check to Chapter Chairperson Barbara Parrott in the amount of $12.00 per year. These are due March of each year.. For those retirees from Springfield Local 658 who wish to join Chapter 305, contact Barbara so your name can be withdrawn from Chapter 658 and added to Chapter 305.

If you want to continue to receive the bulletin and not presently a dues paying retiree,

Contact: Barbara Parrott @ 419-542-8150 to have a card sent to you.

Chapter 2911 Retirees discussed this at the August meeting and it was decided to continue sending the bulletin to all retirees belonging to Chapter 2911 until further notice. It may be necessary in the near future to only send our retiree bulletin to those paying dues.

We do want to encourage everyone who can afford it to pay the $24.00 per year dues (for retirees), $12.00 per year for surviving spouses) to do so.

Presently Chapter 2911 has 414 retirees, 240 from the SEE and 174 from Local 2911.

We have 85 dues check-off members and 8 retirees and or spouses paying dues manually.

We have had some difficulty in the past with cards being sent in and the dues still are not being deducted. If you want to have your dues deducted automatically call Dan Alter 260-918-4094 and I will send you a card to fill out and return to me. These will then be sent to the UAW International Union so you can be on dues check-off.

Chapter 2911 presently receives $59.50 per month from dues check-off. Our yearly expenses for the bulletin, Semi-annual luncheon and the quarterly retiree meeting at UAW Region 3 are approximately $1135.00.

This leaves us short each year approximately $350.00.

Because Local 2911 transferred funds into our retiree account we have enough funds to continue for the present time.

If you are a SEE or Local 2911 retiree and want to start paying dues contact Dan Alter @ 260-918-4094
